Working primarily out of his studio in Eygelshoven, Elbers treats the surface of a painting not as a window, but as a field of presence. Through a rigorous material process—cutting, layering, and reassembling canvas—he constructs works that breathe with tension and stillness. His refined visual language emphasizes the weight of texture, the softness of light across depth, and the quiet authority of form. Each piece invites the viewer into a space that feels both intimate and expansive, where the material itself becomes the subject—charged, contemplative, and resolutely alive.
